ST. MARTHA'S ALTAR GUILD

Almighty God, grant we beseech thee, that we may handle

holy things with reverence, and perform our work with

such faithfulness and devotion that it may rise with acceptance

before thee and obtain thy blessing; through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Being a member of the Altar Guild is a privileged discipline, a service of love, and an offering of time. There are active members and associate members, i.e. women of the parish who are interested in the objectives of the Guild but are unable to give active service.

Altar Guild consists of four teams. Each team is on duty approximately every five weeks. Our objective is the reverent care of the sanctuary, font, sacred vessels and vestments, preparing them for use in the service and sacraments of the church. We are instrumental in baptisms, weddings, funerals, Advent and Christmas, Lent and Easter.

The Rector is ex-officio a member of and Director of the Altar Guild. There is an election of officers every two years. There is a Supply Chairman and two Flower Chairmen.

Meetings are held in Canon Savage Hall. The Rector may call special meetings. Meetings are held quarterly: January, April, September, and December; the second Monday of these months at 6:00 p.m.

Saint Martha’s Day: Sat. July 21, 9:00 AM
Christmas Work Day: Sat. Dec. 15, 9:00 AM
